LASC: Burns Supper 2013 with Highland Park

January 28, 2013 LA Scotch Club, Past Events No Comments

On what would be the 254th birthday of poet Robbie Burns, the LA Scotch Club held its infamous Burns Supper in Pasadena, CA. Overall, it was a pretty festive event. There were a lot of people in attendance – about 70.  A bit over subscribed, if you ask me.  Ah, well. We made do and accommodated and liquored up all of the party revelers.

Anyways, in addition to regular dinner (I had this huge cut of prime rib. Delicious.), we flew in some (pretty good!) haggis to eat, drank Highland Park scotch (12 yr, 15 yr, 18 yr, 25 yr, 30 yr, Thor, and  a special 1977 Bicentenary), listened to the stories of the always funny brand ambassador Martin Daraz, performed an abbreviated version of the Burns Supper ceremony, and put on a drunken poetry contest.

It was all fun times. I can’t wait for next year!
