Yesterday, we joined the Seven Grand Whiskey Society on a field trip to Greenbar Collective, where they make organic booze.
Here are some iPhone pics that I took…
We started the night with a few Honey Bears, a refreshing cocktail featuring their Slow Hand Whiskey. Note that the whiskey is clear but because it sat in an oak cask for 10 minutes, it’s not technically moonshine.
Next, we took a tour of Los Angeles’ first (legal) distillery since Prohibition led by owners Melkon Khosrovian and Litty Mathew. They were a fun couple and very enthusiastic about their venture.
After touring the facilities,we had the opportunity to taste their entire product line, which included the whisky (and even beer), flavored vodkas, liqueurs, tequila, gin, rums, and bitters. My favorites to drink neat were the gin and of course, the liqueurs, especially the Hibiscus and Jasmine flavors.
We wished we could have stayed longer
and get blitzed on the organic booze, but we had to make our dinner reservations across town.
It was a really fun event and I have to thank the Seven Grand crew for setting it up.
